Brazil luxury real estate grows 13% amid shift toward exclusivity
Brazil’s luxury real estate sector grew by 13% between 2022 and 2024, significantly outpacing the global luxury market average of 3% during the same period. According to research by Bain & Company, the broader Brazilian luxury market generated R$ 98 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach R$ 150 billion by 2030.
Consumer behavior in this segment is shifting toward exclusivity and ‘silent validation,’ where luxury is defined by discretion and personalization rather than overt brand exposure. Approximately 57% of high-net-worth consumers surveyed associate luxury with exclusivity.
Bain & Company estimates there are currently 1.3 million high-net-worth individuals in Brazil, a figure expected to rise to 1.5 million by 2030. Additionally, Serasa Experian identifies 7.5 million premium consumers in the country, half of whom are over the age of 49. This shift toward specialized needs is increasing the importance of boutique real estate agencies that offer deep local expertise and personalized service.
