Brazil Ministry of Education releases 2026 Equity Diagnosis results
The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) has released the results of the 2026 Equity Diagnosis through a dedicated monitoring panel. This tool tracks the implementation of the National Policy for Equity, Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations (Erer), and Quilombola School Education (EEQ) across basic education networks nationwide.
Developed by the Secretariat of Continuing Education, Youth and Adult Literacy, Diversity and Inclusion (Secadi), the panel provides indicators on institutionalization, training, management, teaching materials, financing, evaluation, and monitoring. The data, compiled from state, municipal, and Federal District education secretariats, allows for comparisons between the 2024 and 2026 editions.
The biennial diagnosis uses 44 questions—32 regarding Erer and 12 regarding EEQ—to generate indices ranging from 0 to 100. This system is designed to help educational managers identify priorities and plan actions to promote equity in the school system.
