Enem 2026: Over 5 million students registered for Brazil's national exam

The 2026 National High School Exam (Enem) has confirmed over 5 million registrations, with women accounting for approximately 64% of the total. Data released by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and Inep indicates a significant female presence, up from 60% in the previous year. The exam also includes nearly 14,000 participants over the age of 60.

As the exams are scheduled for November 8 and 15, various educational initiatives are underway to support students. These include free online review sessions by Junior Achievement Rio de Janeiro, preparatory workshops in Mato Grosso through the 'Movimenta Enem' program, and large-scale review sessions in Tocantins and São Paulo.

Experts advise candidates to focus on strategic preparation, such as solving previous years' exams, managing time effectively, and maintaining physical well-being. The Enem results serve as a primary gateway for higher education in Brazil via systems like Sisu, Prouni, and Fies.
