Brazil Ministry of Health inspects new SUS transport vehicles in Rio Grande do Sul

The Brazilian Ministry of Health inspected new transport vehicles in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, provided through the ‘Agora Tem Especialistas’ program. The initiative aims to strengthen the Unified Health System (SUS) network and improve access to specialized services, particularly for patients needing to travel between municipalities for exams, consultations, and treatments.

The delivery includes 35 vans, six Type A ambulances, and five Mobile Dental Units (UOMs). The total federal investment for these specific vehicles amounts to R$ 12.31 million, part of a broader R$ 14.3 million investment. The ‘Caminhos da Saúde’ strategy focuses on assisting residents in locations far from specialized centers, such as hemodialysis or radiotherapy hubs, by providing dignified transport for patients and their families.
