Brazil Ministry of Labor sets Aug 31 deadline for firms to file pay‑equity data
The Ministry of Labor and Employment opened the update period on 3 May, requiring all employers with 100 or more workers to submit information on remuneration and gender pay gaps by 31 August. Submissions must be made through the Portal Emprega Brasil and will be used to compile the sixth Salary Transparency and Remuneration Criteria Report, as mandated by Law 14.611/2023.
Companies that fail to comply can be fined up to 3 % of their payroll, with a maximum of 100 minimum wages, and must also disclose actions taken to promote workplace diversity, family support and parental leave. The requirement follows a Supreme Federal Court ruling that confirmed the constitutionality of Brazil’s pay‑equality legislation.
