Manaus motorcycle output hits 1.06 million units, best in 15 years

Manufacturers in the Polo Industrial de Manaus produced 1,063,397 motorcycles between January and June 2026, a 6.3 % increase over the same period in 2025 and the highest six‑month total since 2011. The surge was driven by strong domestic demand; Marcos Bento, president of Abraciclo, said the performance “confirms the positive moment of the motorcycle industry”.

Retail registrations reached a record 1,174,344 units, up 14.1 % year‑on‑year, while exports climbed 29.4 % to 24,084 motorcycles, led by shipments to Argentina, the United States and Colombia. Production of high‑cylinder models grew 37.2 % to 32,285 units. The sector generated about 22,000 direct jobs and more than 154,000 jobs nationwide, with revenue of R$ 16.5 billion, an 11.5 % rise.

In the same period, bicycle output at the same industrial pole rose to 163,158 units, 9.6 % below the previous year, but electric‑bicycle production surged 87.2 % YoY to 34,122 units, representing 20.9 % of total bike output. June saw a temporary dip in motorcycle production (130,875 units) due to scheduled collective vacations for line maintenance. The industry maintains a target of over 2.07 million motorcycles for the full year and expects the Move Brasil credit scheme to have limited impact on sales.
