Brazil municipal health secretariats must formalize medical equipment receipt
Municipal health secretariats in Brazil must formalize the receipt of medical equipment sets destined for Basic Health Units (UBS) across the country. These sets, containing between 17 and 18 items, are designed to address the most prevalent health conditions in the population.
Key equipment includes portable retinographs for ophthalmic exams and automated external defibrillators (AED) for cardiac emergencies. To ensure safe use, asset management, and proper registration in the National Registry of Health Establishment (SCNES), officials must sign a donation term.
Ana Luiza Caldas, Secretary of Primary Health Care, stated that formalizing the donation transfers the assets to the Municipal Health Secretariat, allowing professionals to effectively provide care within their territories. The process requires accessing the AgSUS Logistics System (Sisloga) and registering the municipal health secretary as an external user in the Ministry of Health's Electronic Information System (SEI/MS).
