Brazil municipalities announce Semana da Pátria programming

Various municipalities in Brazil are preparing for the 2026 Semana da Pátria (Patriotic Week) to commemorate the country's independence.

In Sobradinho, the municipal theme is ‘Nossa Pátria começa aqui: história, identidade e pertencimento’. Activities scheduled from September 1 to September 7 include flag-raising ceremonies at Praça 7 de Setembro involving local schools and the Aimoré Scout Group. The week will conclude with a civic parade on September 7, weather permitting.

In Araras, celebrations begin on September 1 with a civic act at Praça Barão de Araras. The program includes school presentations, pedagogical activities, and sports events such as youth football championships. The traditional civic parade is set for September 7 at Praça Barão, and the festivities will conclude with the 15th Independence Race on September 13.
