Brazil municipalities host events for Semana da Pátria

Various municipalities in Brazil are holding events to observe Semana da Pátria (Patriot Week).

In Presidente Figueiredo, the Festival de Verão will take place on September 5 and 6. The event features sports, culture, and music, including volleyball and footvolley tournaments at Parque do Urubuí. The Praça da Cultura will host local musical performances, folk dances, and the Feira das Mulheres que Empreendem, which focuses on female entrepreneurship.

In Angra dos Reis, the week commenced with a ceremony at the Palácio Raul Pompeia. The event included the raising of the flags of Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Mercosul, with participation from students, municipal officials, and members of the Colégio Naval. Mayor Cláudio Ferreti emphasized the importance of civic participation for fostering patriotism and citizenship in younger generations. A civic parade is scheduled for September 7 on Avenida Júlio Maria.
