Brazil municipalities provide free public transport for 2026 elections

Municipalities in Brazil are implementing free public transportation to facilitate voter movement during the 2026 elections.

In Campo Grande, the Municipal Agency for Transport and Traffic (Agetran) announced that urban collective transport will be free on October 4, 2026, during the first round of voting. Following Superior Electoral Court (TSE) resolutions, bus lines will operate under a functional plan similar to weekdays to ensure sufficient frequency. The Consórcio Guaicurus will monitor operations to adjust vehicle supply during peak periods.

In Votuporanga, the local government and Electoral Justice have coordinated to provide free transport for voters during both voting rounds. On October 4, buses will follow weekday itineraries. This measure aims to ensure citizens can reach polling stations safely and with ease. Local authorities recommend that passengers check their specific routes via the municipal portal or the Conecta Votuporanga application in advance.
