Brazil national holiday calendar for November and December 2026

The Brazilian national holiday schedule for the end of 2026 includes several key dates that will impact both public and private sectors. According to Ordinance No. 11.460 from the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), November features three official holidays: All Souls' Day on November 2, the Proclamation of the Republic on November 15, and Black Awareness Day on November 20.

In 2026, All Souls' Day falls on a Monday, providing a long weekend. The Proclamation of the Republic falls on a Sunday, meaning it will not result in an extra day off for most workers. Black Awareness Day falls on a Friday, creating another extended weekend.

The year-end period also features consecutive holidays falling on Fridays: Christmas on December 25 and New Year's Day on January 1, 2027. For the federal public service, the afternoons of December 24 and December 31 are designated as optional holidays (ponto facultativo).
