Brazil: New accessibility guide for autistic people released
The organization Abraça has released an accessibility guide for autistic individuals as part of the national campaign ‘Sou autista, sou defiça: acessibilidade é meu direito’. The guide, available in PDF format, covers essential concepts ranging from neurodiversity to practical accessibility in workplaces, schools, and social environments. To ensure broader access, an audio version is also being developed.
In a related political context, Liana Cirne, a lawyer and professor from the Federal University of Pernambuco, has outlined her legislative priorities for her candidacy for the Chamber of Deputies. Her platform includes the defense of public services, combating labor precariousness, and the creation of an Integrated National Policy for Autistic People. She aims to advocate for increased federal resources for Pernambuco and the protection of educational and scientific institutions.
