Movimento Violência Sexual Zero launches reporting platform in Brazil
The Movimento Violência Sexual Zero has launched the National Map of Guardianship Councils, a free digital platform designed to facilitate reports of sexual violence in Brazil. The initiative is a partnership between Childhood Brasil, Instituto Liberta, Grupo Mulheres do Brasil, and Vibra Energia.
The platform serves as a centralized directory for more than 3,500 guardianship councils across the country, providing updated contact information and instructions on how to formalize complaints. It highlights several reporting channels, including the federal government’s Disque 100 service, which allows for anonymous reporting, as well as the Military Police (190) and Federal Highway Police (191) for immediate emergencies.
For crimes involving online child abuse, the site directs users to specialized institutions like SaferNet. The launch comes amid rising concerns regarding digital exploitation; data from the international network InHope shows Brazil rose from 27th to 5th place in reports of child sexual abuse content distribution between 2022 and 2024. Additionally, research from Ipea indicates that only 8.5% of registered cases in the country are officially reported.
