Brazil nuts drive over half of Acre's extractive industry value
In the Brazilian state of Acre, Brazil nuts emerged as the primary product of the vegetable extractive industry in 2025. According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the nut industry generated approximately R$ 65.85 million, accounting for 54.2% of the state's total extractive value of R$ 121.4 million.
Production reached 7,192 tons, making it the dominant source of value among forest-collected products. Within the food products segment specifically, Brazil nuts represented roughly 88% of the R$ 74.8 million produced. Xapuri was identified as the state's leading producer, contributing 1,501 tons valued at R$ 13.66 million, followed by Brasiléia, Rio Branco, and Sena Madureira.
