Brazil opens 1,138 specialist doctor posts and high‑pay health jobs in the Federal District
The Brazilian Ministry of Health has opened registration for the third cycle of a specialist doctor recruitment drive, offering 1,138 immediate vacancies across 24 specialties in 309 municipalities nationwide. The largest share, 290 positions, is for peri‑operative anesthesia, while other specialties include transthoracic echocardiography (128), minimally invasive general surgery (74), digestive endoscopy (53), colonoscopy (51) and clinical oncology (50). Slots are allocated as 699 open competition, 237 ethnic‑racial quotas and 202 for people with disabilities. About half of the positions target interior municipalities.
Separately, the Federal District’s Strategic Health Management Institute (IGESDF) announced a reserve‑list hiring process for technical and higher‑level health roles, with salaries ranging from R$ 3,124 to R$ 18,116 per month plus benefits. Available posts include clinical pharmacist, anesthesiologist, nuclear medicine nursing technician, urologist, clinical nutritionist and operating‑room nurse. Applications for all IGESDF editals run from 00:00 on 6 July to 23:59 on 15 July 2026. Selected candidates will undergo document verification, written exams and medical screening before potential appointment.
