Brazil opens calls for social impact and homeless population policy proposals

Public consultations and project applications are open in Brazil to support social and environmental initiatives. Individuals and organizations have until November 6 to submit suggestions for the National Meeting on Policies for the Homeless Population, scheduled for December 2026 in Brasília. The consultation aims to improve services across eight thematic axes, including housing, health, education, and human rights, covering specific demographics such as LGBTQIA+ individuals, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

Separately, Banco do Brasil has opened applications for its 'Mãos Dadas' Program for the 2026 edition. Entities focusing on community transformation have until October 31 to register proposals. The program has expanded its scope to include circular economy and waste reuse, supported by the Law of Incentive to Recycling. Funding is divided into two tracks: social and health demands for specific populations, and environmental sustainability projects focused on selective collection and the structuring of waste picker cooperatives.
