Brazil opens police penal recruitment drives in Rio Grande do Norte and Rio Grande do Sul

The state of Rio Grande do Norte has published the official notice for its Police Penal recruitment, offering 260 immediate vacancies and a reserve register. Salaries range from R$3,500 to R$5,681.78. Applications are accepted from 22 June to 27 July through the Instituto Avalia, with the written exam scheduled for 13 September.

A similar call has been made in Rio Grande do Sul, advertising 213 positions with salaries that can reach R$9,745.26. The contest likewise requires a university degree and includes a physical‑aptitude test, written exam and psychological evaluation.

Police penal officers are tasked with maintaining security inside penitentiary units: escorting inmates, conducting cell inspections, managing crises such as riots, controlling access for visitors and staff, and handling administrative reporting.
