Brazilian orange juice exports stable in volume but revenue falls 30% as US overtakes Europe
Brazil’s orange‑juice exports for the 2025/26 harvest remained virtually unchanged in volume, reaching 746.9 thousand tonnes, a 0.2 % rise from the previous season. However, export earnings dropped to US$2.38 billion, about 30 % less than the US$3.42 billion recorded in 2024/25, reflecting weaker global demand and lower international prices.
The United States became the leading single destination, accounting for nearly 48 % of total shipments (355.8 k tonnes), up 16.3 % year‑on‑year, while revenue from the market fell 20.6 % to US$1.08 billion. Europe’s share slipped from roughly 50 % to 45 % of volume, with a 10.9 % decline in shipments and a 38 % fall in revenue. China increased imports by 26 % in volume, but revenue rose only 1 % to US$70.3 million. Japan recorded the steepest contraction, with volume down 28.6 % and revenue down 45.9 % to US$58.9 million.
