Brazil pasta market reaches 7.6 billion reais in first half of 2026

The Brazilian pasta market generated 7.6 billion reais and sold 642,000 tons in the retail sector during the first half of 2026, according to data from Abimapi and NielsenIQ. Pasta is a staple in the country, present in 99% of Brazilian households.

In celebration of World Pasta Day on October 25, research from Cargill indicates a shift in consumer behavior, with 46% of Brazilians seeking premium food options at home. While 77% of respondents reported reducing spending at restaurants and cafes, 89% allow themselves some form of indulgence at least once a week. This trend suggests consumers are looking for gastronomic experiences and special meals through home preparation rather than dining out.

The industry continues to innovate with various formats, including whole grain, functional, and gluten-free options to meet diverse dietary needs.
