Brazil PIS/Pasep salary bonus eligibility and payment details

The PIS/Pasep salary bonus, an annual benefit for Brazilian workers, is subject to specific eligibility requirements. To qualify, workers must have been registered in the PIS/Pasep system for at least five years, worked for a minimum of 30 days during the base year with a formal contract, and earned an average monthly salary of up to two minimum wages.

The benefit amount is proportional to the number of months worked during the base year, with a maximum cap of one full minimum wage. The PIS program, managed by Caixa Econômica Federal, serves private sector employees, while the Pasep program, managed by Banco do Brasil, serves public sector employees.

For the 2026 payment cycle, the final installment for workers born in November and December is scheduled for release on Saturday, August 15. Payments are typically deposited automatically into the worker's account, though funds can also be accessed through official banking apps, lottery houses, or bank branches.
