Brazil police raids seize drugs, weapons and contraband in multiple states

Police operations across Brazil resulted in numerous arrests and large seizures of illicit goods. In Bahia, Operation Eldorado targeted an organized crime group that moved more than R$ 25 million through illegal loans, leading to six arrests. In Goiás, officers used artificial‑intelligence tools to capture three suspects and recover stolen jewellery. A suspect linked to the murder of a military corporal was captured in São Paulo’s Capão Redondo district. In Rio Preto, a .38‑calibre revolver possibly used in a rides‑hare driver’s killing was seized, and its owner arrested. In Ceará, an AI‑driven pilot at the Expocrato festival helped police detain 19 fugitives. Drug‑related busts included two arrests in São Paulo’s eastern zone, a police misconduct case where seized cocaine disappeared, a transport seizure of about 870 kg of marijuana in Palmital, a raid on a jewellery‑theft ring in Goiânia, and a seizure of over 170 iPhones in Paraná after a vehicle inspection. Additional operations seized cocaine and marijuana in Campinas, captured a drug suspect in Acre, and intercepted a drug network in Ilha Grande, Piauí. Federal courts ordered three commercial properties seized in Operation Área 51 to be used for social programs in Passo Fundo. A convoy carrying almost R$ 2 million worth of contraband was intercepted on the MS‑162 highway, and police in Ponta Grossa seized 189 kg of marijuana and 6.9 kg of cocaine. Across these actions, over a dozen suspects were detained and millions of reais worth of illegal goods were confiscated.
