Brazil police arrest women in separate cases involving minors
In Teresina, Piauí, a 42-year-old woman was preventively arrested on suspicion of racial injury, threats, and violating protective measures against an 11-year-old neighbor. According to the Civil Police of Piauí, the suspect was already facing legal proceedings for similar crimes against the child. The arrest followed repeated violations of protective orders established under the Henry Borel Law, which provides mechanisms to protect children and adolescents from domestic and family violence.
In Caçador, Santa Catarina, the Military Police arrested a woman convicted of mistreating a minor under the age of 14. The woman, who had been serving a seven-year sentence under electronic monitoring, had her sentence regressed to a closed regime after failing to comply with the conditions of her electronic ankle monitor.
