Brazil police bust drug traffickers in Santa Catarina cities

The Santa Catarina Military Police carried out two separate operations against drug trafficking. In Itajaí, officers stopped a 36‑year‑old man selling cocaïne on Rua Américo Meinicke, seizing five small packets of cocaine, cash, and later discovering additional cocaine, ecstasy tablets and MDMA in a nearby home during a domestic‑violence response. The suspect and two users were arrested and taken to the local detention center.

In Balneário Camboriú, the 12th Battalion monitored a residence on Rua Peru in the Nações neighbourhood and intercepted a man delivering crack to a buyer. Police found a crack stone, a pipe and R$24 on the buyer, and seized 25 crack stones (about 4 g) and R$55.50 from the seller. The dealer was charged with drug trafficking and transferred to the civil police station.
