Brazil police confrontations with criminal factions leave multiple dead
Police operations in Brazil resulted in multiple fatalities during confrontations with members of organized crime factions in Salvador and Pontes e Lacerda.
In Salvador, four individuals identified as members of the Comando Vermelho (CV) died following a shootout with the Military Police near the Plataforma neighborhood. The suspects, including one woman, were reportedly involved in the homicide of a moneylender. Police seized firearms and ammunition at the scene and have intensified security presence in the Subúrbio Ferroviário region to pursue fleeing suspects.
In Pontes e Lacerda, four suspected members of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) were killed during an encounter with Rotam and Força Tática units. Video footage recovered from a suspect's mobile phone showed the individual armed and threatening to resist police intervention. One person was seriously injured during the exchange of gunfire. Authorities are analyzing digital evidence to identify additional properties and escape routes used by the group.
