Brazil police crackdown on drug operations in Goiás and Pará
Police in Anápolis, Goiás uncovered an illegal electricity connection that powered a greenhouse used to cultivate marijuana. The clandestine power line supplied air‑conditioning and lighting after the residence's regular service had been cut. The resident was arrested and faces charges for drug trafficking and electricity theft, with the financial loss to the utility still being assessed.
In Redenção, Pará, military police seized a large cache of narcotics during a raid on a kitnet complex. Authorities recovered 7.62 kilograms of marijuana, 167 grams of cocaine, 55 ecstasy tablets, four perfume‑flask containers of stimulants, precision scales and a knife. A suspect fled the scene by jumping a wall, but the drugs were recovered and forwarded to the civil police for further investigation.
