Brazil police detain man posing as fitness instructor at Rio gym

José Carlos Rosa de Faria was arrested in Rio de Janeiro after authorities found him conducting a class at SkyFit CT Copacabana without the required physical‑education credentials. The operation was carried out by the Consumer Police (Decon) together with the Regional Council of Physical Education (CREF) following multiple complaints. He was taken to the police station for questioning, and investigators said they will look for any other instances of illegal professional practice. No indication has been given yet whether the gym was aware of the fraud.
