Brazil police detain seven Colombian thieves in Indaiatuba and probe teenage‑linked shooting in Recife

In Indaiatuba, São Paulo state, police arrested seven Colombian nationals after two near‑simultaneous pharmacy burglaries. Surveillance footage led officers to two vehicles – a VW Polo and a Renault Sandero – from which large quantities of stolen medication were recovered. In Recife, Pernambuco state, a 30‑year‑old woman, Steffanie Mayara Batista dos Santos, was shot dead while breastfeeding inside her home.
