Brazil police detain woman suspected of leading illegal arms and drug network in Simões Filho
On 12 June, police from the 4th Toxic and Narcotics Division in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador arrested a 32‑year‑old woman in the Góes Calmon neighbourhood of Simões Filho. Investigators say she was a key figure in the storage, movement and distribution of firearms and narcotics linked to a criminal group operating in Simões Filho and Camaçari. The arrest was part of Operation Flecha do Crime, a component of the nationwide Operation NARKE VI coordinated by Brazil’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Authorities continue to map the group’s structure and are seeking additional members.
The operation was carried out after months of surveillance that began in March, and the suspect was taken to the appropriate police unit for processing. No further arrests have been announced at this stage.
