Brazil police investigate public‑fund misuse in Bolsonaro film
Brazil's Federal Police opened an inquiry into the possible irregular use of public funds in the production of "Dark Horse," a cine‑biography of former President Jair Bolsonaro. The probe focuses on allegations that five Liberal Party deputies diverted about 4.6 million reais (roughly 777 k euros) from parliamentary amendment allocations to entities linked to the film. Federal authorities are also examining whether the financing involved money‑laundering through a Texas mansion purchased by a close associate of Eduardo Bolsonaro and linked to banker Daniel Vorcaro, who has been accused of funneling millions into the project. The investigation was authorized by Supreme Court judge Flávio Dino, and the Comptroller‑General of the Union has launched a secret audit of the alleged misuse. Police are further looking into the nonprofit Instituto Conhecer Brasil, which was involved in the film's production and has faced separate fraud allegations.
