Brazil police pursue suspects in luxury theft and illegal clinic cases

Police in Brazil are searching for Letícia Pereira de Lima, a woman linked to a theft ring that stole jewelry and watches worth about R$1.8 million from luxury apartments in São Paulo, Paraná, Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais. An operation in São Paulo failed to locate her, and she is considered a fugitive. The alleged group used disguises to gain access to condominiums and has had members arrested in several states.

In a separate investigation, São Paulo Civil Police detained Simone Santana de Moura, a licensed aesthetician and union representative, for running a clandestine clinic in Santos. Authorities seized syringes, anesthetic drugs and other medical supplies, alleging that she performed invasive procedures without proper authorization. She was released on bail after posting a cash bond and faced precautionary measures.

Both cases highlight intensified police action against organized crime and unlicensed medical activities in Brazil.
