Brazil police rescue woman from attempted homicide in Minas Gerais

A 41‑year‑old woman survived an attempted homicide after being attacked by five men in Veríssimo, Minas Gerais. The assailants tied her, cut her hair, and threw her from a bridge over the Rio Uberaba. Despite injuries and a cloth tied around her neck, she managed to free herself, swim to the riverbank and hide until she was found the next morning by Military Police patrolling the AMG‑2545 highway.

Police say the violence stemmed from a dispute over missing money at the nightclub where the victim worked. One suspect, a 34‑year‑old man from Conceição das Alagoas, has been arrested; the other four suspects, aged 21 to 28, remain at large. The case is being investigated as qualified attempted homicide.

Authorities continue to search for the remaining suspects and are reviewing security‑camera footage to identify further participants.
