Brazil police seize 20 kg of drugs on highway and bust cannabis garden in separate arrests
Federal highway police in Brazil stopped a vehicle on the Rio de Janeiro–Espírito Santo stretch of BR‑101 and found more than 20 kg of illicit substances, including marijuana tablets and a kilogram of cocaine base. The driver, a 28‑year‑old man, and his 20‑year‑old female passenger were detained and the seized material was sent to the 146th police station in Guarus.
In a separate operation in Chapadão do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, a 28‑year‑old woman was arrested for animal neglect and the cultivation of cannabis plants. Police discovered two adult dogs, three puppies in poor condition, about 66 g of marijuana‑like material and drying cannabis branches, along with 21 mobile phones. The woman was taken to the civil police station for further investigation.
