Chapecó Police Seize Over 1 kg of Cocaine in Traffic Stop

On 7 July 2026, the Military Police of Santa Catarina (PMSC) intercepted a vehicle in the Engenho Braun neighbourhood of Chapecó and seized approximately 1.094 kg of cocaine. The chase ended with the arrest of a 36‑year‑old man on drug‑trafficking charges and the detention of a 16‑year‑old passenger, who also had a prior record.

Police also recovered R$ 318 in cash, a mobile phone and the vehicle used to transport the drugs. Both suspects were taken to the Central Police Station, and the seized cocaine, money and vehicle were handed over to the Civil Police for further investigation.
