Brazil police seize cocaine in São Paulo and crack in Bahia in separate drug busts

Police in Birigui, São Paulo state, acted on an anonymous tip and arrested a man found with 49 plastic packets of cocaine concealed in a sock, along with a R$20 note, two .32 caliber cartridges and three mobile phones. The suspect was taken to the local police station and placed in custody pending judicial review.

In Ubatã, Bahia, officers responding to a similar tip detained a woman who admitted to storing a bag of crack. A search uncovered 289 crack rocks ready for sale, three mobile phones and a bag used for packaging. She was also booked on drug‑trafficking charges and held at the territorial police station.
