Brazil police seize drugs and arrest dozens in coordinated operations across South and São Paulo

Police in Brazil carried out a large‑scale operation against a drug‑trafficking and money‑laundering network in the southern states. Codenamed Apakani, the raid involved about 300 officers and resulted in 27 arrests across Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and other locations, the seizure of more than R$ 21 million in illicit proceeds, and the freezing of accounts and vehicles linked to the syndicate.

A separate crackdown in the São Paulo metropolitan area, part of Operation Quebra‑Vidro, saw over 600 police officers detain three suspects and confiscate substantial drug shipments, including 10.2 kg of marijuana and 7 kg of cocaine, along with cash and a stolen phone. The actions are intended to curb organized crime and improve public safety in the region.
