Brazil police seize drugs and firearms in raids in Alta Floresta and Campo Grande

Police units in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso seized cocaine base, marijuana, a .22 caliber pistol, ammunition, cash and phones after a tactical raid on a residence in the Bom Pastor neighbourhood of Alta Floresta. Five adults and two adolescents were taken into custody on drug‑trafficking, association for trafficking and minor‑corruption charges.

In the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, Campo Grande, the Specialized Drug‑Trafficking Repression Division (DENAR) acted on an anonymous tip and raided a house in the Conjunto Aero Rancho neighbourhood. Officers recovered portions of a cocaine‑like substance, hidden marijuana, a precision balance used for drug processing and a 9 mm pistol with ten rounds. Two men were arrested, one for drug trafficking and the other for illegal possession of a restricted‑use firearm; the latter was also recaptured after having fled the prison system.
