Brazil police seize drugs in arrests in Arapongas and Santarém

In Arapongas, municipal guards arrested a man carrying about 10 grams of crack, along with small quantities of marijuana and cocaine, and cash believed to be linked to drug trade. The suspect, known to local police, was intercepted during a routine patrol near the Expoara pavilion and handed over to civil police.

In Santarém, a 13‑year‑old girl was detained after police responded to an anonymous tip about a “boca de fumo” operating in a local residence. The teenager said her mother and stepfather had left her alone to sell the drugs while they attended a vaquejada. She surrendered a bag containing 30 portions of a substance resembling cocaine, and child‑protective services were involved.

Both incidents highlight ongoing drug‑related enforcement actions in Brazil’s interior municipalities.
