Brazil police seize marijuana plantations and arrest drug suspects across multiple states

Police operations in several Brazilian cities led to the detention of multiple drug suspects and the seizure of illegal marijuana crops. In São Paulo, Rocam officers arrested a teenage member of a "quebra‑vidros" gang after finding video evidence of vehicle‑window robberies. In Umuarama, Paraná, a couple was arrested following a tip that revealed a rural property hosting 334 mature marijuana plants and assorted narcotics. In Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, a 14‑year‑old was caught with crack, cocaine, marijuana, hashish, cash and packaging equipment. In Barretos, São Paulo, a 24‑year‑old was detained with 18 portions of marijuana, a replica pistol and other items. Minas Gerais police disclosed a fourth marijuana plantation in the state’s north within 21 days, locating a prepared four‑hectare site in Unaí that appears linked to the same criminal organization responsible for earlier large‑scale grows in Virgem da Lapa, Francisco Sá and Porteirinha.
