Brazil police seize falsified-ID motorcycles in Chapadão do Sul and Botucatu

During an overt patrol in Chapadão do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, the Military Police seized a red Yamaha YBR motorcycle after detecting mismatches between its licence plate, chassis number and the data registered in the system. The 24‑year‑old rider claimed ignorance of any irregularities; the vehicle was handed over to the Civil Police for investigation.

In Botucatu, São Paulo, a 35‑year‑old caretaker was arrested after police discovered a green Honda CG 125 Titan with a suppressed chassis number, signs of motor alteration and an incompatible plate. He said he had bought the bike for R$1.4 thousand from an unknown seller. The motorcycle was also taken for forensic analysis to determine its origin and the extent of the identifier tampering.
