Brazil police seize cloned motorcycles, illegal electronics and drugs in multiple operations
On June 27, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) recovered two cloned motorcycles on the BR‑101 in the south of Espírito Santo. Both bikes showed altered chassis numbers and falsified plates; the drivers were transferred to the state police.
In Paraná, a joint ROTAM operation intercepted a passenger on an inter‑state bus at Céu Azul carrying 37 iPads and two MacBooks without fiscal documentation. The devices were seized and forwarded to the Federal Revenue for a customs investigation.
The same state’s Military Police seized foreign‑origin goods worth roughly R$ 143 000 during a bus stop in Campo Mourão, including electronic devices, perfumes and medicines lacking import paperwork. The items were handed to the Federal Revenue.
On the SP‑270 near Angatuba, the Road Tactical Police (TOR) seized 278 undeclared smartphones valued at about R$ 600 000. The driver was arrested and placed under federal custody.
In Pará, PRF agents stopped a Fiat Palio on the BR‑316 near Castanhal and uncovered about 41 kg of illicit drugs (analogues of oxycodone and skunk). The driver, previously arrested for trafficking, was detained and the cargo sent to the civil police.
In Arapongas, a municipal guard detained a man riding a tampered scooter after he ran multiple red lights. Investigation revealed a falsified plate and removed chassis numbers; the rider was charged with vehicle‑identification fraud and taken to police custody.
