Brazil police seize illegal weight‑loss drugs and shut down fraudulent lottery in Limeira‑Piracicaba

Police operations in São Paulo state targeted two separate illegal schemes. In Limeira, the Civil Police’s Operation Fatburn arrested five people and seized about R$200,000 worth of weight‑loss and diabetes medicines, including tirzepatida and oxandrolona, as well as syringes, e‑cigarettes and other equipment. Investigators say the group sold and administered the products without medical oversight, also falsifying therapeutic goods and smuggling items into the country.

In a related crackdown, officers in Piracicaba and Limeira disrupted the clandestine “Vida Sorte” lottery, arresting two suspects while the live draw was being streamed online. Authorities confiscated R$610,000 in cash, three luxury vehicles and numerous electronic devices, and halted the sale of up to 100,000 tickets that promised a R$115,000 prize. The men face charges of illegal gambling, fraud, document forgery and money‑laundering.
