Brazil police seize more than 2 tonnes of marijuana in São Paulo and Campo Grande

Police in São Paulo arrested two men and seized 751 kg of marijuana hidden in boxes inside a truck parked at a junkyard in the Jurubatuba area of the city’s south zone on 21 May. The haul, comprised of 892 bricks of cannabis, was discovered after officers smelled a strong odor during a routine patrol.

In Campo Grande, police intercepted a Ford Cargo truck after a high‑speed chase on 20 May, finding 1,477 kg of marijuana packed in 13 metal drums. The 37‑year‑old driver was arrested, admitted he was paid R$10 000 for the transport, and the seizure was valued at roughly R$3.05 million. Both incidents were documented as drug‑trafficking cases by Brazil’s anti‑narcotics agencies.
