Brazil police warn of AI‑generated deep‑nude extortion scams

Police delegate Herdeson Bernardo of the Piauí Civil Police warned that criminals are using artificial‑intelligence tools to turn ordinary social‑media photos into fake nude images and then extort victims, often demanding payment via Pix. The police advise victims not to pay, to preserve evidence such as messages and screenshots, and to file a police report.

A Ministry of Justice report identified 32 websites offering deep‑nude creation tools and described a case at a school in Mato Grosso where more than 30 students and a teacher were targeted by four student perpetrators. The ANPD documented at least 16 similar school incidents across ten states, affecting 72 victims, mostly girls and women. The Defensoria Pública of Mato Grosso can provide legal assistance, counseling and possible judicial measures to protect victims and seek reparations.
