Brazil poll finds 59% disapprove judge's ban on Flávio Bolsonaro visiting father Jair

A Datafolha survey conducted on July 22‑23 with 2,004 respondents in 139 municipalities shows that 59% of Brazilians believe STF minister Alexandre de Moraes acted wrongly by prohibiting Senator Flávio Bolsonaro from visiting his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is serving a 27‑year sentence under house arrest. A further 36% said the decision was correct, 2% were neutral and 4% did not answer.

The poll also revealed that the same 59% support maintaining Jair Bolsonaro’s house‑arrest regime, while 35% would prefer his return to prison. Restrictions on Bolsonaro include an electronic ankle monitor and a ban on using phones, the internet or social‑media platforms, even via third parties.
