Brazil posts record $7.1 billion trade surplus in July 2026

In July 2026 Brazil recorded a trade surplus of US$ 7.1 billion, with exports reaching US$ 34.12 billion and imports US$ 27.05 billion, extending the year‑to‑date surplus to US$ 49.03 billion.

The 12‑month period ending in July 2026 set a historic export total of US$ 369 billion, the highest ever for the country, and a total trade flow of US$ 658 billion. Growth was led by the agriculture, extractive and manufacturing sectors, with notable increases in soy, minerals, petroleum, cellulose and other products.

Exports to China rose 8.6% to US$ 10.67 billion, while shipments to the United States fell 5% to US$ 3.64 billion, reflecting a diversification strategy promoted by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva after earlier tariff pressures.
