Brazil poultry and swine production costs rise in July
Production costs for broiler chickens and live swine increased in July across Brazil's primary reference states, according to data from Embrapa Suínos e Aves released via the Central de Inteligência de Aves e Suínos (CIAS).
In Paraná, the production cost for broiler chickens rose by 1.39% in July, reaching R$ 4.77 per kilogram. This brings the ICPFrango index to 369.20 points. Feed accounted for 62.51% of total costs in July, increasing by 1.67% during the month. Additionally, the cost of acquiring one-day-old chicks, which represents 19.83% of total costs, rose by 1.40% in July.
In Santa Catarina, the production cost for live swine increased by 1.30%, rising from R$ 6.21 in June to R$ 6.29 per kilogram in July. The ICPSuíno index reached 359.67 points. Feed remains the largest cost component for swine production, representing 72.52% of the total cost in July, with a monthly increase of 1.19%.
