Fies begins calling waiting list students for 2026 second semester
The Brazilian Ministry of Education has begun calling students from the waiting list for the Student Financing Fund (Fies) for the second semester of 2026. The calls started on Friday, August 7, and the process will remain open until September 24.
For this semester, the program has made 75,500 vacancies available across 1,274 private higher education institutions. To qualify, candidates must have participated in any edition of the National High School Exam (Enem) from 2010 onwards, achieved an average score of at least 450 points, and scored above zero on the essay, without having participated as a practice student.
Selected candidates must complement their registration details through the Fies Selection portal within three business days of their call. Following this, they must validate their documentation with the Permanent Commission for Supervision and Monitoring (CPSA) of their chosen institution and subsequently at a bank to finalize the contract.
