Brazil prepares for 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup logistics

Preparations for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 in Brazil are advancing, with the final draw scheduled to take place at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM Rio) on December 11, 2026. The event will determine the tournament groups and is expected to host over one thousand guests, including national team representatives, journalists, and officials.

In Porto Alegre, Mayor Sebastião Melo has submitted a bill to the City Council to establish specific regulations for the tournament. The proposed legislation declares the event to be of relevant public interest and includes measures for advertising, commerce, transportation, and security. This includes creating a restricted perimeter within a 1,000-meter radius of the Beira-Rio Stadium to protect the commercial rights of FIFA and its partners, while allowing existing local businesses to continue regular operations under specific conditions.
