Brazil presidential candidates hold final rallies before first round

Brazilian presidential candidates engaged in final campaign activities on Friday, ahead of the first round of voting scheduled for Sunday (4). The candidates focused on strategic urban centers including Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasília, Recife, and Belo Horizonte to maximize visibility.

Incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held a parade in Rio de Janeiro and advocated for increased funding for science and public universities in Belo Horizonte. During his activities, Lula made a specific appeal to voters over the age of 70, encouraging them to exercise their right to vote despite it being optional for that demographic.

Other notable activities included Augusto Cury holding a rally in Brasília to protest election interference and criticize judicial decisions, stating his intent to form a pact with the Legislative and Judicial branches if elected. Flávio Bolsonaro campaigned in Montes Claros, while Samara Martins held events in Recife and Rui Costa Pimenta concluded his campaign in São Paulo.
