Brazil probes femicide murders in Araguaína and Marília

A woman was found dead in a residence in the Setor Universitário neighborhood of Araguaína, Tocantins, on Thursday night. Police treated the case as homicide and isolated the scene while forensic teams collected evidence. The victim's identity has not been released and the body will be sent to the local medical examiner for an autopsy.

In Marília, São Paulo, another woman was discovered on Friday afternoon in a north‑side home. Investigators suspect femicide after the son found the body with signs of blood, a forced entry, and a note left on the corpse. Police and forensic units are conducting examinations to determine the cause of death and the time frame. The victim’s name also remains undisclosed.

Both incidents prompted coordinated responses from the Military Police, Civil Police and scientific police units, which are working to gather forensic evidence and identify the perpetrators.
